Crossplay, one sub style of cosplay, it is opposite role cosplay-the female portray male characters and the male portray female characters. It seems be so easy to crossplay, while it needs much technique, or you may make your audience laugh! It is always important to make an effort if you wish to pull off a truly convincing crossplay here I like to share some technique with you all.

Male to Female Crossplay
The male and the female have big different on body, the most clear is that female have breast,so the male need wear a prop. What’s more, female always looks beautiful and feminine; eyebrow should be made smaller, maybe needs earrings.

Female to Male Crossplay
Recently years, crossplay is very fashionable, but the most is female to male crossplay, there is few male to female crossplay. No matter male to female crossplay or female to male crossplay, makeup is the most important step.
The primary area to focus on with female to male crossplay is usually the eyebrows(Men have thicker and often darker eyebrows than women)you’re likely to need to apply some makeup ,certainly if your eyebrows are naturally thick and you leave them to grow this way, you can miss it .Choose an eyebrow pencil or eyeliner a shade or two darker than the hair color of the character you are cosplaying, unless the hair is black in which case I suggest a very dark brown pencil for a more natural look.
To apply the makeup, it often helps if the pencil is a little blunt and preferably quite soft. With very light strokes, draw on top of the eyebrow hairs themselves, avoiding getting too much pencil on the skin below. This will give a more natural look. The strokes should be in the direction of the eyebrow hairs to keep it smooth and natural looking. Don’t overdo it – subtlety is the key here to make you look like a real man instead of a woman trying to pretend she’s a man!
Foundation is also important. Men may not be in the habit of wearing makeup, but their skin texture tends to be slightly coarser and darker than that of a woman, so once again makeup is your friend in reproducing this. Choose a foundation a shade or two than your normal foundation color, being absolutely sure to blend it well at the jaw line if not continuing it down to cover all exposed parts.
